You are dumb. Here is Kaperdick's original comments about his protest:
He is emphatically stating the flag represents a federal institutionalized oppression of blacks including the Obama led WH. He and others couldn't be more ignorant.
The single biggest issue in the black community is black on black crime and how the black community doesn't fight for their own when their own are lying dead in the streets by the hand of their own.
Stats show just how blacks oppress their own way more than cops.
Kaperdick is not standing up for what is right, he is kneeling for his racist views.
I'd like to thank him for demonstrating just how out of touch liberals and blacks are to reality.
Add: before this is over, Kaperdick will eventually admit his muslim conversion or his sympathies to muslims in general.
quote:
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

What does bitching about it do? Other than entice more people to do it?
ETA: I mean, we're talking about a guy kneeling for the national anthem at an NFL game. Like that shite matters in the slightest.

I agree there. Message board bitching is about as useless as kneeling.

If my mindset is the problem, what is the correct way to deal with this situation?

Think about if you walked around at work and raised a "black power" fist. What would happen to you? That's one answer.
Or maybe two answers in one.

quote:Yea, I think the likely very tiny amount of people not watching due to the national anthem stuff isn't moving the ratings needle at all.
This anthem shite has nothing to do with it.
But all of the other stuff already mentioned combined with the home experience continually improving and that's the driving force.

Suspend a guy for 5 games and I guarantee you it will stop instantly.

You want to get your arse sued in court? Because that's how you get your arse sued in court.

Lol a lawsuit. Name me a lawsuit over TD celebrations being banned.

Funny how I answer your question but you ignore mine when it's convenient.
The real answer is to play the anthem while players are in the locker room, and fine/suspend anyone who makes a racist gesture during the game. A lawsuit for that would be laughed out of court.

Oh, and on what grounds would the NFL suspend Kaepernick?
It's honestly laughable that you don't think trying to take 4+ million dollars from a player would result in a lawsuit.

This thread is about black power fists. I never said anything about fining or suspending guys for kneeling.
You are lost in the wrong thread dude. Give it up.

tomato tomato
Have a good one.
ETA: Give it up? You're advocating suspending a guy on zero legal grounds and don't think it would result in a lawsuit. Jesus Christ. Bright young man, you are. ETA2: And thought TD celebrations was an appropriate analogy.

Not everything against you is racially motivated.. and talking about race is NOT GOING TO STOP RACIST FROM BEING RADCIST.
What it does do is fuel more racial divide though.. It is what it is..
It doesn't matter how much you talk about it, there will always be some sort of hatred..
It's time we cut this labeling shite out and we stand united as Americans..

I'm certainly not pissed off, however I don't care for such gesture during our united anthem.
And I don't care for the double standard or hypocrisy.
