I don't see the Magic getting anywhere near the finals without Hedo and Lewis...Howard is an exaggerated Ben Wallace in my mind. I mean I can see forming a team around him, but it would take lots and lots of help. Not nearly as dominant as Shaq or the Dream, needs a lot more work on the offensive end.

I think alot of people overrated him when they made the finals now I think alot of people are underrating him since he had a bad finals.

He's an all-star w/o question though

I don't think DH is a top 3 or 4 player in the league, but definately top 10. Not overrated IMO, Magic don't make it close to the finals if you switch DH and Kendrick Perkins out.

He is a funnier Mutumbo

he does score more though...

Mutumbo high for scoring in season 16.6ppg
Howards high was year before at 20.7ppg

Obviously Howard can get better since he is still young.
He has improved year after year who we compare him to today wont be same person we compare him to 5 years from now.

without D-Howard, those guys don't have such a great series against the Cavs.

Hes great at defense and rebounding. he has to improve offensively thou. all he can do is dunk and not dunk like shaq used to. shaq would dunk on two guys, just knock guys out of the way. howard is not that strong. he is young thou and this may motivate him to get better

He made it to the finals with worst surrounding players than Shaq or The Dream ever had. PPL forget how young he is and he's only going to get better.

Hakeem had Drexler, Shaq had Kobe or Wade, Howard has Hedo and he made it to the finals. If you dont see the difference in talent around them than your blind.

Errr.... ummmmm.... I think

Nelson, Alston, Lewis, Hedo, Pietrus are all pretty talented...

Howard, Nelson, Lewis are all-stars

Hedo is above avg player.... They just dont have star power as Gasol/Kobe/Fisher really.

What hurts Howard is he can not create a shot other than a dunk and if he has to pass out of post it seems like its a turnover every time.

Lewis is one-dimensional, Nelson wasnt healthy, Hedo is the 2nd best player even when Nelson and Lewis or both healthy, but if you want to put them in the same surrounding class that Shaq and Hakeem had than youre dumb.

Also, Fisher is not a star. Great clutch player and solid player but not a star.

I like how people want to refer to others as dumb when they have nothing else to say...

Obviously you never watched the Houston Rockets win back to back when they had Hakeem and then who? Oh yeah Sam Cassell, Robert Horry, Vernon Maxwell some studs there.

Lewis did avg 17.7ppg 5.7rpg 1.0spg 2.9apg and .6rpg
he did a little of all

Hedo 16.8ppg 5.3rpg 4.9apg

those are a little better numbers than avg talent right there...

First year he had Thorpe who averaged around 15 and 10 the first championship year then the next year they traded him for Clyde who was good for 20 a game.

I wouldn't say that those 2 Rockets teams were talentless outside of the Dream

Thorpe 14/10 in 93/94
Thorpe 13/9 in 94/95

Clyde 21/7 in 94/95

I am saying they had less talent than Orlando this year.

Unless you wanna count Sam Cassell who was in his 2nd season during 1st championship

and Robert Horry who was in his 3rd season during the first championship.

Hakeem carried that team especially in playoffs where he averaged 29/11

No one Orlando outside of Howard averaged a double double this year.

then you have wasted your "mind" if you think DHoward is BWallace. That might be the dumbest statement ever written on the MSB

Both Orlando and Houston had players avg double figures

Orlando
Howard 20.6
Hedo 16.8
Lewis 17.7
Peitrus 9.4
Alston 11.7
Nelson 16.7

Houston
Hakeem 27.3
Thorpe 14.0
Kenny Smith 11.6
Maxwell 13.6

Thorpe may have had double/double but Orlando has more scorers even with Nelson out for last half of year.

Orlando also had 5 people avg 5 assist per game to Houston 1.

Orlando had 4 players avg 4.5 or more rebounds with 1 10+
Houston had 5 avg 4.5 or more rebounds with 2 avg 10+

nah but hearing that Howard has no help bothers me... Lewis and Hedo are very good all-star caliber players and Alston/Nelson are legit point guards.

Howard did not carry this team to victory every night. He didnt have to he had help

WAIT you get to include Peitrus at 9.4 PPG and leave out Horry at 9.9 and Ellie at 9.3?

That is some selective fact finding there.
