The Spurs lucked into 2 franchise players in Robinson & Duncan
works both ways and Pop is just as important as those franchise players.

I'd say if you don't go out there and make a name for yourself and you aren't a top 10 player then your career may not last very long.

Swaggy P is literally still in the league just because of his persona, dude is a trash garbage player, but he's entertaining.

You think Nick Young is still in the NBA because he's a big personality?

Do you really think your line of logic makes sense?

I rejoiced like a mofo, but that was just me. I'm waiting for Tony, Manu and Pop to exit stage left.

It's definitely not because Young is literally shooting 40.9% from 3 on 7 attempts per game. And also not because Young literally has a .594 TS%.

No, no chance. Just because of his persona!

Manu's my boy!

Think this year is his swan song, though I may or may not weep.

Ok, probably may

To a certain extent, I agree. It's important to note that, at least in Jackson's case, his emotions eventually landed him in Pop's doghouse and eventually off the team. Twice. But Manu, on the other hand, is extremely demonstrative and has fit right in, obviously. Malik Rose and Mario Elie were hardly reserved, as well.

Good info.

I wasn't aware of the volatile relationship between Pop & Jackson. What was it ? Inopportune Techs by Jackson or just generally being taken out of his game because fans/ players ,etc....got into his head?

And who can forget Mr. "Kiss of Death" Mario Elie who was no wall flower.

I just think Leonard has probably taken his leadership role seriously & Duncan/ Robinson are his examples.
