I think Baylor is the best team in the conference but their slate in November is going to be pretty brutal

@Kansas State (say what you want, but they're great at playing spoiler)
#17 Oklahoma
@#14 Oklahoma State
@#4 TCU

Any of these games Baylor should be favored to win but it's tough to play 4 competitive games in a row like that and not slip up

Don't forget about vs Texas after @TCU

But really, @Oklahoma State and @TCU are going to be difficult. I expect to drop one of those two.

We have 10 days to prepare for KSU (albeit so do they) as the game is on a Thursday night. Problem for KSU is that the one thing we can do on defense is stop the run, so we are usually able to force Bill Snyder teams to pass the ball. This is where they struggle. We are 4-1 in our last 5 games against them with our only loss being a 1 point loss to them in 2010 after leading by 9 in the 4Q. We won't lose to OU at home. We have never won in Stillwater so that is a mental barrier we have overcome, and Oklahoma State has maybe the best defense in conference. @TCU speaks for itself.

I hope they drop at least 1 of those games, then beat TCU. This is football, not basketball BIG12.

Idk maybe? They have not played a single decent team besides Tech...if you consider them decent. They definitely have not played a defense that was worth a shite and still probably wont

Combined record of their opponents are 15-26. Thats bad.

The more pertinent question is when they lose one of the early games, how soon will the writers get selective amnesia and put them back in the top 5 as soon as they score 60 again?

I'll go ahead and say it. They go through the conference undefeated.

Perhaps, but even with TCU's injuries, Baylor's D isn't much better statistically, thus far.

Baylor is going undefeated. They are 2 TDs better than TCU this year.

Baylor has a true dual-threat QB for the first time in 4 years. Plus, they have the linemen now to compete with anyone.

Oklahoma State gets Baylor, TCU, and Oklahoma all at home lol

They aren't good so it doesn't matter, but that's kinda funny.

Baylor's stats and overall "impressiveness" is derived from this cupcake schedule:

@SMU
Lamar
Rice
Texas Tech
@Kansas
West Virginia

.....that makes Ohio State's schedule look challenging.
I would hope the voters wake up and realize Baylor should be punished for that schedule, not awarded. Not a single one of those teams is remotely close to a top 25 team.

Quality wins for Baylor are forthcoming. They went 11-1 last season and are hands down better this year.

I agree that the non-conference schedule is embarrassing. But you can see the talent and potential for this team even against weak competition.

Last time we played there Bryce Petty fell at the one-yard line and cost us a shot at the national championship.

It happens again. Just because we're Baylor.

How do we know based on their competition? We've seen the talent and potential on offense, but their defense still looks porous. The secondary was laughable at times vs Tech and WVU.

agreed.

i feel like we hear the same "this year is different" argument from Texas A&M every year, but eventually they at least bow out because they actually play someone.
