I've been a huge college football and basketball fan my whole life. A decade ago, this news would have had me upset. Now, I'm kind of meh about it all.

If college basketball and football go down with programs getting the death penalty and/or the sports being wiped out, I don't think I'll be that upset. There's too much money flowing around. It got too big about 8-10 years ago and lost something, in my opinion.

Something will replace it. College sports won't go away. But, I have to say that I wouldn't be too upset to see the whole thing reset and see what comes out of it. It will probably end up being a lot more entertaining. At this point, with the one-and-dones in basketball and just a handful of powers and recruiting being a mess in football, I'd like to see the whole thing come down several notches so it feels like college sports again.

Anyone else feel that way?

Absolutely fricking not.

Why would I want something I enjoy watching, destroyed?

No. I wouldn't mind seeing it purged hard though and cleaned up. I think this might happen for CBB. 7 on 7 for CFB is next.

Absolutely not.

Those reminiscing for the "good 'ol days" of it being "clean" are performing some real revisionist history. Plenty of hundred dollar handshakes, just not the means to expose them like we have today (i.e. Social media, internet, etc).

get rid of "athletic scholarships"

let the illiterate thugs play in minor leagues. college sports can go back to being as was intended, for student athletes

REPORTER AT FSU: "Do you like being here?"

DEION SANDERS: "I have to be here"

I wish they would be more lenient with things.

I can continue to get behind not allowing boosters, these 100k+ loans, etc but small things like selling an autograph picture, why not?

If LF wants to sign a football and sell it for $100, what's the harm? Maybe put a limitation on it, but he should be allowed to.

I'd love to see it reformed.

I know it's always been a business but nowadays coaching are making like 8 million dollars a year, conferences fall apart and add new members solely for TV contracts, the business aspects are tarnishing the game more than they have int he past.

But when billions of dollars are at stake, not much will probably change. If anything it will continue to get worse.

And the "Million Dollar Walk" at Oklahoma

There is film of a Michigan-U of Chicago game from 1905 w/50K fans in the stands at Ann Arbor. Once that happened corruption was inevitable

Let's just call it what it is. It's the minor leagues.

That's what I'm confused about. If you don't like it, don't watch it. No need to wish death upon it.

No. But I would like to see a purge of all the "advisers", "handlers", "uncles" and other scumbags.

(That's not to deny that the schools/coaches don't make millions off of largely un and/or undercompensated players)

NCAA as we know it will not survive this.

There will be major changes after the university presidents have their noses rubbed in shite.....

......in public.

College? Maybe basketball, the system is broken, and maybe if shite hits the fan, things will get fixed.
