The only NFL quarterback who has an older brother that IS a good quarterback is Eli Manning. I don't see why people are freaking out. If anything, Derek knows what not to do.

I think not getting bridgewater makes the mallet trade much more likely

I'm sure Houston has been on the phone with New England all night.

I think the texans go OL here to help shore up the trenches and trades for a QB or waits and get the kid out of eastern Illinois, Murray, Boyd, or mett in the later rounds along with a WR in the later rounds.

They could try out Jamarcus

Carr may be the most naturally gifted thrower in the draft. He's a solid qb prospect and I'm surprised he made it out of the 1st. When it's all said and done, he may be the best qb in this draft. He's easily the best available qb and they need a qb that can compete for a job.

Nice article on the Carr's via ESPN the other day, David said he didn't learn about being a QB till he got to NY behind Eli and he's taken that knowledge to Derek. Even brought in an NFL coordinator to teach Derek how to break down film study, running a pro style offense, and how to prepare.

I think the Texans take Nix with #33 or trade back to get more picks.

Then OL with the 3rd rounder.

Eastern Illinois kid could be very good one day.

I think they have to go OL in round 2 and take Mett, trade, or some other QB in the 3rd.

Texans are a QB away from greatness now IMO. Clowney and Watt is just outrageous.

I can really see them taking either guy from ND. Nix III for the nose to Tuitt to play DE alongside Watt to replace Antonio Smith. Both guys are highly touted prospects with first round grades. I will be slightly shocked if they go QB here. Clearly they didn't think too highly of Manziel or Teddy, as it would have been very easy and feasible for them to have traded up to get either. Could you imagine if the Texans left last night with both Clowney and Manziel? I think the most likely scenario is trade down, and then probably up again. There are two draft picks from last year ,a 3rd round RT in Brennan Williams from UNC and Quessenberry or however you spell it, that they are very high on. Both were on the DL last year. I don't think they go O-line early this draft. I would love to see them take a RB in the 3rd to replace Tate: like Hyde or Hill( ).

Lee would be a sweet pickup, but WR is the most complete position group among all of the Texans.

The General said some months ago that the Texans would never even consider Carr, not because of him or his brother, but because of the parents. Said the dad was a real jerk and was always at practices bitching.

There is absolutely no way they can do it, even if they love him. Too much bad PR.
