I have not served. And that is more reason to respect those who did. Thank you for your service! And it absolutely is his right to stand or not, but it is disrespectful.

That's your opinion. In some minority's opinion, the country is disrespectful to them. They have the right to voice their displeasure by any legal means.

We will never understand each other or agree with each other, so to get upset is a waste of energy.

Agreed, there are ways to express their opinions, by disrespecting others is not the right way to go about it.

DelRio was told by Lynch, ‘This is something I have done for 11 years. It’s not a form of anything other than me being myself'

Very vague statement. We all know he has stood for the anthem during his career. Has there been tines he hasn't? Maybe that's what he's referring to.

Yea, Del Rio said he said he's sat for his entire career. It seems that he didn't necessarily mean he's sat every time, just that there are times throughout his career that he has sat.

Explain what Marshawn did wrong
Marshawn is an uber attention whore and do it for that sole purpose. He's creating a distraction for the team. The team is trying to win games. Ownership is trying to make money. This distraction is an unnecessary hurdle to winning games and making money. Marshawn is trying to get attention at the expense of the team and organizational goals.

The funny thing to me is the NBC Sports article attacking Del Rio for allegedly lying. Did they expect Jack Del Rio to have whether or not Marshawn Lynch has sat during the national anthem memorized? He was just relaying what he was told by the player, so why is anyone wanting to shoot the messenger?

Wait what?

Lynch is the exact opposite, he doesn't want to talk to the media, be in the limelight, make appearances, etc.

He just wants to play football and be left alone and has always been that way, that is who he is.

They have a first tier rb who went to college in berkeley, 15 minutes from stadium. Team is leaving town asap.

Therefore, he is tolerated.
Besides, most bay area people are delighted.
Goes with the us vs them meme raider fans love.

More upvotes merited for this being a fitting expression in the people's republic of Oakland, home of Gov. Moonbeam and where motel parking lots next to the airport have tall metal fences AND police guards.

Only the well lighted and carefully designed in and out burger joint didn't have an armed guard last time we flew in there.

After a year of Kaep and all of the hot takes, people are kind of burnt out discussing it.

Marshawn is going to have to up the ante a little for shite like that to get noticed this year.

he sits down for the anthem. 3 minutes later, its over. Back to business. If the team is somehow distracted by Lynch, its their problem

You left out the fact that they'll have to deal with a media circus if he keeps doing this. That's where the distractions come into play. San Francisco sucked last year but constantly dealing with the Kaepernick stuff didn't help them.

Practice and preparation could get disrupted by the media circus.
