Do Players' Families Attend White House Championship Celebrations?

....or is it players, coaches and management only? Also, what sports does this extend to? I don't recall hearing of any congratulatory press conferences for Hockey or Soccer.

Tim Thomas of the Bruins skipped the White House ceremony explicitly because of his opposition to Obama's politics. So, yeah, hockey goes. So does just about every team.

I'd guess only the players get to be in the photo op, but the families get to go to DC and be a part of the trip.

Thanks for the picture proof and explanation, just a simple thought after remembering all of the negative reaction due to players skipping through the years, which I have no problem with. I'd just think it'd be an amazing experience for the athlete's kids, but wondered if there may be some clause to prevent Dwight Howard's 43 children from crowding the room.

Do you think MLS is the only one where Obama is in the top maybe 10% in wealth in the photo?

It is kind of weird that for the Big 3, every one is a millionaire in the photo.
