Miss St will have a still have one of the best resumes if they lose to Bama or Ole Miss or in the SEC Title game -i think they're in even with one loss. (95% confidence).

Florida State is trickier but with potential losses to Miami (top 25) or Florida, Or Duke (top 25) in the ACC title game - seems that as long as their loss comes to a top 25 they have a decent chance to get it with just one loss as well. (50% confidence)

Not sure with this. If they lose to Duke, I think they are out. Not fair to have them ahead of Duke, which is way behind the rest of the the other 1 loss teams. If they lose to Miami...it gets interesting

If you only lose to Bama and go 11-1...I think you're in

Depends completely on how much a conference title matters. We've never seen a committee weighing that in before, so it could be a gamechanger/trump card

State has to win the SEC. As long as a committee/poll is in charge, teams will be rewarded or punished on their brand name instead of the actual results on the field.

the logic will be since we have 5 conferences and only 4 spots that its politically easier to "screw" over two conferences than it is to just screw over one. Leaving out just one conference is a committee nightmare.

So in this hypothetical, Miss St gets in.

To play devil's advocate, are they going to let 2 teams in from 1 conference every year? They will have 5 conference champs every year, often with multiple champs having the same record at 1/2 losses. They are screwing a champ every year (the system not the committee), so may as well start doing it year 1

FSU, yes, unless the loss is really really embarrassing. 1 loss defending champ (shouldn't matter but it does) isn't getting left out of the palyoffs.

Same for Miss St, except they could get left out for a conf champ if the loss is to Alabama.

Indeed, your logic is just as sound as mine. Its all pretty ridiculous, really

yeah, i think so too.

So Miss State is going to be sitting in the clubhouse at 11-1 (most likely) with that only loss coming to Bama. Does that put them above the Big12 or the BIG champ? How do you choose? Its fn impossible

They probably would get in since the committee has had them as #1 but I don't really think they are the best team out there right now.
