Do any of you actively follow American Ninja Warrior?

I've seen the show a few times, and it's really neat. But it gets old quick after watching the course get run a few times, and the commentary feels forced most of the time to me. But they do a good job of making it seem like there's a crazy passionate crowd for these athletes.
Is any actually part of that crowd? I just don't see how you can stay invested in it unless you're rooting for someone you know.

It gets repetitive, but I'll watch it with my son. He loves the show. I probably wouldn't watch it unless he did.

That guy in the Trex costume almost made it too. His arms failed him in the end, unfortunately.

It seems to be a kids show. My 13 year old nephew love the show. He seems to think it is a real sport. And wants to train to do it.

It makes sense now. I wouldn't understand I guess, no kids

Same with me and American Gladiators as a kid. Hell, we'd set up obstacles in the back yard and stand on the balcony of our garage to throw tennis balls and dog bumpers at each other as we tried to cross the "Gauntlet".

We watch it pretty regularly... My whole family watches and my kids really love it.
I could do without all the back story stuff for EVERY dang competitor... just run the course!!

Honestly, American Ninja Warrior is bonk. I much prefer Ninja Warrior (Sasuke) back on G4. Makoto Nagano is still the man. Hearing the Japanese announcer screaming in delight at Leeeevi Meeuwenberg was great.

I enjoy it but they need to change the courses

My 4 year old boys love it, so we watch here and there.

If I were younger I would do it. I can do the courses now but I've got important shite to do.

I just hate the back stories and the cringy commentary

The commentary doesn't bother me because the kids love it but frick my life the back stories are horrible.

Most Extreme Elimination challenge was my absolute favorite show when I was 14-15. Always laughed my arse off.
I'll watch Ninja Warrior from time to time if nothing else is on.

OG Ninja Warrior was far superior imo.

We'll catch it sometimes. 8 year old daughter loves it. I watch for the wipeouts. These guys do all this training and make it to one of the regional comps, and 12 seconds in splash into some water. That look on their face is great. The fact that they do all the backstory on each contestant, and show them actually building stuff somewhere to train on, for it to all be for nothing on their first attempt is great TV. The ones that actually finish and make it to the finals are fun to watch too.

Watch it now and then, it's ok. Watched the Spartan Team Competition last night, now that was good.
