after watching the game late.
The poor calls were pretty equal.
The big problem like I thought all along for U-high or any other 3a team for that matter playing curtis would be depth.
The curtis secondary is as good as they come at the HS level - and that is without 15 shifting in for nickel(which i think was in the plans)
I figured cubs would score a couple of times before Curtis would adjust and then put the breaks on it.
When you play curtis and the give you something u have to take it. early turnover and holding penalty on long td run were two early breaks uhigh did not take advantage of - should have kicked the field goals - 13-6 or 6-6 is better than a goose egg. It also takes JT out of his comfort zone of continue to pound waiting for you to wear down.
a point to ponder - that was the closest in class game patriots had this year.
I know the lhsaa meetings are going to be interesting.. because.... only 17 schools really have to deal with curtis in the current scheme and playing all the way up in all or a single sport won't pass....
so for the foreseeable future 3a selects will have the river ridge school in their hair.
I know some folks associated with the school in river ridge got pretty hot about some comments the radio crew made
this whole mess is about two schools....
the way to handle it is to let them play the schools with the resources to compete with them....
I thought all along they were 4-5 touchdowns better than anyone else in 3a select or non select.
and IMO if their QB is healthy they beat St. Aug 9 out of 10 times.
and I have been down on the field when teams have won their 20th state title..,1st and 3rd...
the reactions from the kids, coaches and parents is the same....

REPOSTING THE FIRST PART BECAUSE I'M REALLY INTERESTED IN YOUR RESPONSE.
With all due respect, what were you saying 2 weeks ago when uhigh was throwing bombs up 30 in the 4th quarter?
My memory is a little foggy but wasn't Manny, the starter, the one throwing those bombs when they were up by 30 in the 4th quarter 2 weeks ago? I'm pretty sure he was. Oh, wait, it's coming back to me, I believe the whole first team including Nick and MB8, were in the game up 30 late in the 4th quarter. I could be mistaken. Please advise. Thanks. I'll hang up and listen.
This thing went from being stickied to being anchored. Interesting.

JT keeping it classy, going for 2 up 25-0 with 6 minutes left in the game. Surely he can't wonder why everyone hates his program so much?

Attribute that TD to him keeping his first team in with less than 2 minutes left and a heck of a tackle their OT made on my son to spring that run. And berating the refs over every single call even up 4 scores. Yep, exudes class.
