then they should have taken the timeout. the ravens knew he was rushed. inexcusable not to burn the timeout.

Well, Jason Garrett thought something wasn't right and called a timeout before his team's game winning kick. He got blasted for calling the timeout.

Was his kicker running onto the field with 10 seconds left on the playclock?

1) they had a time out they could have used

2) they have field markers that are "unrigged"

3) its a fricking 32 yarder, dude should be able to make that in his sleep
4. Never should have gotten to that if Lee Evans is worth a shite. But that is why Lee Evans is Lee Evans.

Maybe the guy who was the driver in the snow plow game from the 80's finally got paroled and the Patriots found a new use for him in the scoreboard booth

I don't understand why they had the kicker sprint out there anyway and didn't use a timeout. If he actually took his time then he would have nailed that kick.

wouldnt be surprised.... theyre a dirty franchise. back in the playoffs in 04 I think they had a ball they allegedly kept warm before Vinatieri kicked the game winner to beat us in the below freezing playoff game, which is not legal at all. that was the word around Nashville at least.

2003 season, game played in January, 2004.

In 4th quarter, actual field temp -4 degrees, wind chill -15 degrees.

Balls are in control of officials on sidelines.

I just watched the official NFL Productions summary replay (45 minutes) of the game. Sabol described the ball as "rock hard" on the kick. Vinatieri was quoted by the NFL as saying "it was like kicking a brick".

I live where those temps and wind chills occur several times each winter. Even in a conspiracy scenario where the Pats could have somehow gained possession of the ball, "warmed it" and somehow got it on to the field for that kick, past the officials, I can tell you this - in those conditions, that ball would have retained its warmth/softness for about 9 seconds. It was nighttime and the conditions were among the worst in NFL history.

With all that said, Bennett then dropped a 4th down pass that was clearly right in his hands at the Pats 16 yard line with 1:34 left in the game. It would have been virtually the same scenario as Sunday night was. Nothing "dirty"could have saved the Pats from either a certain Titans field goal or just as likely a winning Titans touchdown.

Blame Bennett for that loss, not some ball-warming conspiracy!
