Did the Patriots Fake an Error on the Score Board

So there it is. The scoreboard was wrong, Cundiff was rushed, and his mechanics on the kick went goofy. I don't pass this along as any kind of an excuse for Cundiff — you can decide for yourself if his miss is excusable or something that even needs excusing — but it's an explanation.
Here's another question, though: Is it possible that the Patriots did this on purpose? Did they have their scoreboard operator display the wrong down, to mess with Cundiff's routine? Ravens kicking consultant Randy Brown is wondering that same thing. Via CBS Philly, Brown said to Angelo Cataldi on WIP in Baltimore, "I don't think you can rule anything out in New England, can you?"

1) they had a time out they could have used
2) they have field markers that are "unrigged"
3) its a fricking 32 yarder, dude should be able to make that in his sleep

I am not a fan of new england by any means but damn this is a stretch.

then they should have taken the timeout. the ravens knew he was rushed. inexcusable not to burn the timeout.

I'm not either, but thought the article could use a good TD comb through.

My bad...
I scanned through briefly, but must have missed it.

It was a short thread because the only people that think twice about it are delusional Raven fans and writers looking for a story

In case theres any need for more reason for this story to be dumb

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said the following to the Ravens' official website regarding the Gillette Stadium scoreboard: “We knew what the down and distance were on our last series. The scoreboard was not a factor for us. Any suggestion that the wrong down information was a deliberate effort to affect the outcome of the game is nonsense.”

Lee Evans should have held onto the TD instead of letting a pathetic desperation slap knock it out. Squeeze that damn thing son!

What have I posted that was opinion?
They did have a timeout. The markers are the field were correct. He should have made the kick anyway. John Harbaugh did say that the whole notion is bull shite.
I did not reflect my opinion in any of my posts in this thread

Lee Evans should've caught the TD 2 plays prior and none of this would be an issue.

I wouldnt be surprised.... theyre a dirty franchise. back in the playoffs in 04 I think they had a ball they allegedly kept warm before Vinatieri kicked the game winner to beat us in the below freezing playoff game, which is not legal at all. that was the word around Nashville at least.

Seriously the best conspirosy you can come up with is that we kept a ball warm? you need to adjust your tinfoil hat

How does posting a quote from John Harbaugh constitute an opinion?
Posted on 1/26/12 at 11:38 am to lsutigerB
If the guy holds on to the ball in the endzone the missed kick is a non issue. Also, if Cundiff makes the kick, this is all a non issue. They lost, they eat the poo poo sauce.
