My dick got so momentarily erect when I saw Correa's name in the subject. I thought today was the day

Oh you changed it

This game is a lock for the Astros.

Just read that my Rangers are the only MLB team this season without consecutive wins.

One small deal I would like to see us make if we are contending in July- get a right handed OF bat to platoon with Rasmus vs LHP. His career splits are like 260-210 RH vs LH and he's been around that or worse I believe this year. And Grossman has been pretty rough. Don't need anything flashy or a big name or anything, but I think it could help the lineup in those situations. Don't think there's anyone in the minors who would fit to call up

Don't want Hamels. No way he would stay in Houston past this year. Not only that, his numbers just aren't great this year. Now, is that age or is that him not wanting to be in Philadelphia?

He's signed through 2018. I'm split on it, I'm not worried about him performing honestly. His velocity hasn't dropped and his numbers are inflated due to his last start. They would almost definitely be giving up Appel, which I am fine with if you're getting a proven top of the rotation guy, but I don't know if I would rather have Hamels over going after one of the big names this offseason in free agency (and keeping Appel). It's an interesting read though

He actually has a team option for 19 too so technically signed through 2019

Yeah I'm not sure about the Hammels thing if that means giving up Appel. I'm not sure if Appel will ever be an ace on this staff, but I'll be very happy with him as a solid mid-rotation guy. I really like the idea of keeping Appel and going after one of the many big name free agent arms this offseason. Cause as much as it pains me to say, we more than likely aren't winning the world series this season.

Remember the plan... though I think they stand a real shot at being for real legit contenders no later than next season.

Houston has two top 5 picks this hear and 4 of the top 46 picks in the draft. I hope the braintrust can kill it in the draft this year. Would be nice to get a couple of guys in the top 5 that can make the big league team within 2 years.

And the draft picks should be considered if they were to give up guys like Santana, Hader or Phillips to make the club better this year. Those guys are expendable in the right situation when you have all those top picks to restock the system.

The upside for Hamels vs signing someone like Zimmermann or Price is you're only committed to him for three and a half years and probably less money if the Phillies eat some of the contract like they say they will- and the numbers on long term contracts for pitchers usually don't have good returns on the back end (ie 35 and beyond). The downside obviously being that you have to give up prospects. I would guess Luhnow is at least pursuing it to see what the price is

I would love Fister as well as a cheaper guy

Why wouldn't he stay in houston past this year? He have an out clause in his contract?
