I wanted Kobe to be the next MJ more than anyone. I grew up watching MJ and Kobe comes close but MJ would absolutely school him. Sorry but he is just a notch below and nobody is even flirting with MJ in his prime.

there is really no way to compare players from differents decades to each other. The new CBA's, salary caps, free agency its all different than when jordan played to now.

Just take the late 80's early 90's pistons. Hell if that team was still around they would all foul out in the first quarter and by halftime they would have to get fans out of the stands to finish games and the opposing teams would win based solely on shooting FT's the whole game.

The game has changed so much in the last 15-20 years. I don't like kobe, but I will give him his due he is a very talented player but I wonder how many other players (wade, pierce, james, etc...) would have done with a dominate big man in his prime like the lakers did with shaq.

Hell imagine the spurs with shaq teamed up with duncan and all the other players they had can we say decade of dominance. still burns my arse the lakers lost to the pistons in 2003-2004.

George Karl is the victim of Michael Jordan's dominance like so many other coaches/players.

So Kobe basically bowing down to MJ at the All Star game is your foundation?

Man he had a team with Kemp, Shremph, and The Glove that was by far the most talented team in the NBA and they bombed.

I don't know about bombed. They lost to the 72 win Bulls in the finals then a series of terrible management decisions ripped that team apart

That was a good team that got steam rolled by one of the most dominating teams in NBA history. Had that team been together during the 2 years between 3 peats, they would have taken the hardware imo

I can't believe I am even discussing the early 90's Supersonics.

There you go with that misplaced "b" again. You really need to get your keyboard checked.

Kobe played for a half against him and scored 18 points. In the process, Kobe had a crossover that put Jordan on his arse. Jordan played a whole extra quarter in that game after getting schooled just to redeem himself.

The difference is when Kobe disappears in the 4th, he isn't on the court.
