Has anyone been to Del Mar's Opening Day? Or been to the track? How was it?
I'll be going with a group of friends and I'm trying to figure out where to sit - in the general admission area or in a box.
Any tips? Thanks!

I have been on multiple occasions and opening day is absolutely insane. Now that it falls on a Friday (as opposed to a Wednesday when I last went), I can only imagine how much crazier it will be. If you haven't already secured a ticket for a box, you are likely out of luck. Those sell out immediately (believe they have a raffle nowadays), so your likely choice is general admission. Thanks for your reply

Yes and there is some fine scenery. Hang out on the Club Level, trust me on this.

Man, do I miss Opening Day at Del Mar. Maybe saw a couple actual races, I was always in Gen Admission with the fellow poor students. And that ain't a bad thing in SD

It's one of the greatest atmospheres in racing. I prefer it over attentending the Derby. Saratoga is tops on my list, along with Keeneland.
