Saw the last few minutes if his interview last night and came away with 2 thoughts.

1. He is still a master at promotion....himself, Jackson St and HBCUs.

2. I had no idea about how bad his leg issues were last year. Goodness, it looked like Alex Smith's leg and lost a couple of toes as well.

You can tell the person who produced the piece is not familiar with college sports

Seriously, they were acting like Jackson state is knocking on a playoff spot

Props to Deion. His JSU squad is winning, and he’s brought more attention to HBCU/SWAC football in ages.

I love how he was honest about entertaining offers from bigger schools in the future. Didn’t lie and say he’d never leave.

Hunter will likely be a first round draft pick too. Great pub for the league.

yeah, Deion is definitely making some noise doing what he is doing, but this will probably only last as long as he stays at Jackson State. When he gets a power 5 job, then we will see if he can actually coach. Maybe he can, I don't know, but its not all that impressive to get more talented players at Jackson State and then dominate in the bubble of HBCUs/SWAC.

It’s not impressive to land 4 and 5 star recruits to a place that barely has running water? Wtf is wrong with you people ?

What makes you think he wouldn’t be a successful recruiter with 1000x the resources than he has at JSU? Like someone said, he’s a master promoter and salesman from himself to his program.

I think you of all people know that having stacked rosters benefits a program greatly and if you can coach just a little, you’ll be wildly successful.

Agreed. Despite all the positive attention and success at Jackson State, Deion is still kind of an unknown as a head coach.

They were a double digit favorite in the Celebration Bowl last year and SC State gave them an old fashioned arse whooping. It was like they didn't have a plan B when it was apparent they couldn't just out-talent their way to another win.

Everybody has a bad day, so the Celebration Bowl might've been one for Deion, especially with his leg troubles, but I get why bigger programs may have some hesitancy in hiring him.

If he can attract talent to JSU then he would be able to attract talent anywhere.

How pissed are fsu fans that norvell is doing well enough that they can’t justify firing him and someone else may hire Sanders

His recruiting is impressive, no doubt, but if you can't actually coach and develop those players, then it doesn't mean shite. There are plenty of programs that can recruit 4 and 5 stars that never win shite. Like I said, maybe he can coach, manage, and develop, but there is simply nothing to go on when making that determination.

It just kind of seems like a gimmick to me.

You can add Primetime in with both Eli and Peyton as players I didn’t like until after they stopped playing the game

Notice they're not playing an FBS team this season. Deion don't want no losses.

They're going to play for deion sanders. Runing water, shoddy facilities, etc have nothing to do with it. They want to play for a guy they idolized grwoing up. The fact that they can absolutely dominate the inferior competition probaly helps too.

because he wouldn't be competing against HBCUs anymore. Pretetnd he went to AU or FSU. Now instead of recruiting against Morehouse and Tuskeegee he's going up against alabama and georgia. Just a biiiiiiit of a difference there.
