Deadspin is just mad. I, like Nightingale can't remember any controversies involving the Red Birds in recent years. These guys put the St. In St. Louis. 2 players killing themselves while driving drunk as well as a manager drunkenly asleep at the wheel was just a media smear campaign that never really happened. Its certainly not an organization that seems to have a DWI problem.
ETA: please nobody mention the Cardinals play by play man who has been twice arrested for DWI

They never draw attention to themselves. Except when the team talks all sorts of shite on the Los Angeles Dodgers, or Tony LaRussa drives while shitfaced, or fans chant racial taunts at Ferguson protestors, or a top prospect gets drunk and dies in a horrific car accident that also kills his girlfriend.

From 2004, 4 WS appearences, 2 titles, plus another 3 LCS appearances. They aren't the GOAT, but they have been among the most consistent winning teams in the last 10 years.

O look! Another thread shitting on the Cardinals! And this time with a link to a Deadspin article from the same guy who is so obsessed with the Cardinals that he writes a column about how much he hates them every year! What a fricking joke you people are.
Mediaman: "What do you think makes this franchise so great?"
Cardinal: "Let me just give you a pat answer that everyone will take way too seriously."
Mediaman: "O great! Thanks! The Cardinals sure are the best, aren't they? Classy organization." *Cum guzzle. Sucky sucky.*
Cubs/Braves Fan: "frick THESE PIECES OF shite! THEY ARE SO frickING ARROGANT! ARRRHGHGHHHHHH!! frickING! CHIPPER! JONES! frick!"
Cardinals Fan: "Ha. Idiots."

It's mutual.
I'd love to buy Bartman a beer if he'd ever come out of hiding.

That's because you give 0 fricks about anything. You just go to the games to eat brats, drink beers, and revel in the history of a Cubs organization that has been irrelevant for 90% of its existence.
ETA: That was mean. Yeah, the Cubs and Cardinals "rivalry" is about as tame as it gets.

Cubs fans annoy me because you seem to either have people who followed them across the country on WGN back in the day (I guess that's OK) or junior vice president Wrigleyville/Lincoln Park bros who go just to drink Dog Style and look cool. But, the more I become exposed to Cards fans, the Cubby dorks seem way less irritating.

Bartman was a scapegoat.
Gonzales was the goat of that game.
ETA: And Dusty Baker.

Hate the Cardinals, love 'em, I don't care. I think Deadspin's take was, as per the norm, over the top. But if you want to know why people hate the Cardinals, it's statements like this:
I mean, other than all of the DUI's and Tavares killing himself and his girlfriend by being something like 10 times over the legal limit. Other than, you know, the arrests and deaths, I can't remember any controversies.
Oh, except when they hired Mark McGwire as the hitting coach, and he's Mr. PED (frankly, I don't give a crap about PEDs, but a lot of people do). Yes, I know he's now in LA.
I don't think that makes the Cardinals more hateable, other than the fact they employed LaRussa in the first place and he's the Baseball Antichrist. But don't pretend that the Cards don't go through the same BS as every other team. They do.

The same can be said for the tourists flocking to Mardi Gras.

Yeah, I apologized. That was a pretty shitty thing to say and, frankly, I have nothing against the Cubs. The Cubs and Cards actually seem to have a decent amount of respect for each other. I was just being a dick for the sake of being a dick.

Cardinals legend. Regardless of controversy, Cardinals will always honor a Cards player.

LaRussa is a baseball God and the Cardinals were smart enough to hire a God.

So what are y'all going to do with Piscotty and Grichuk?
It's a good problem to have logjams, but with re-signing Jay and getting JHey, what is the talk of dealing with the abundance of OF?

Not sure, honestly. Probably will trade them for some pitching or something at some point. Who knows what Mozeliak is doing?
