I know he's almost certainly never going to be up for any COTY awards, but damn the job this dude is doing there is incredible. He has them competitive every year with nobodies, and now he's starting to bring in talent. He just got another commitment from a 4 star and has Duke currently in the top 15 of overall team rankings.

Incredible job by the ole geezer

Agreed.

I didn't think it was possible to win at Duke. Amazing job.

The ACC is just that pitiful.

Disagree, you can win in the ACC without talent. SEC is a different ballgame. He couldn't bring in the talent to win.

SEC is too top heavy. I'll take the pac12 all day given their postseason results.

When you're playing Mizzou, Florida, Vandy, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Then you toss in mediocre teams like USCe, Ole miss, and Miss St. The SEC is wayyy ahead of the ACC

He's done well to turn Duke around. That's not an easy thing to do. He has Duke ripe to continue churning out 8+ wins with how weak the ACC (Coastal) is.

Did you follow the most recent NFL Draft? The ACC was second to the SEC in almost every aspect. FSU and Clemson are pumping out NFL talent, and the other programs are recruiting better and better.

The ACC is on the upswing regardless of whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

It'll be huge for the ACC if he can turn Duke into a competitive football school

If you put Duke in the SEC West they'd win 2-3 conference games (3 or 4 if in the East)a year tops I don't think it's even debateable. Or is it?

SECW is the toughest conference division in CFB. I wouldn't be shocked if Duke was near the top in the east

A Big Twelve castoff cellar dweller wins the SEC East every year. Quit acting like its some juggernaut.

SECE is pretty god damn bad. Although most of the SEC had a down year last year

I don't think they'll quite become the Stanford of the East, but I think a being a top 40 team and going to a bowl every year is realistic, which is amazing compared to where they used to be. Hopefully they win their bowl game this year (I'm pretty confident in at least a 7 win season).
