For every one of those, there will be one barreled up in the same manner

I imagine there will be a default pitch for those situations with pitchers that are used to taking their time

We know what Greinke is lobbing in when that happens.

For real though, unless it's a 3 ball count, taking the ball is probably better than just throwing a center cut fastball.

Don't even have to click to know what that is.

But the 1 1 rbi in the ws was worth it huh. Just like liriano 1 inning was worth Teoacar

James Click could tell we needed just 1 more RBI to be world champs. Clearly worth it. That's why he was fired. Genius GM.

Maldy in the 3-hole today. Dusty is high again.

2 out of 3 starting pitchers for the Yankees are using their own pitch box to call their stuff. They seem to love it and it is again something that could keep the game moving. At this point, it's just experimental but if pitchers are digging it, MLB might keep it going this season.

I'm for anything that speeds up the game without having to cut any of the precious commercials.

The games I've watched are flying. Somehow only the commercials seem to be slowing things down. When the season begins and everyone is getting familiar with the new rules, the strategy used is going to be off the chain.

Perhaps MLB has finally found their "spread offense" to bring new excitement to an old game and a very old version.

Man, I hate to pull against a kid, but it would suck to give up a future piece for a rental that played an almost insignificant role

The Verlander and Greinke moves were big wins on the Astros side, so you would expect an eventual rental trade piece to pan out for the other side

Per Francys Romero Twitter (retweet by Astros Future)

quote:

Sources: The Houston Astros are the favorites to sign Cuban OF Kevin Alvarez when a new international period opens January 15, 2025. Bonus sign will be in the $2 M range. Considered one of the best hitters in his class.

Alvarez, 15, left Cuba with his father in December 2021.

I assume this meant to be 2024 not 25? Not sure

Yeah, if he's already 15 he'll be eligible for the 2024 date.

If he turns 16 before Sep. 1st he's eligible now, but I assume that's not the case.

If you didn't ever watch games, the flag would be the only real giveaway, but yeah for those familiar with the park that's a mindfrick.

Yordan would be hitting some absolute bombs to the high rise buildings.
