He's flashed some of his potential over the last few games. He still could allow fewer baserunners.

This. He falls in love a little bit too much with the strikeout so he gets to 0-2 on a batter and starts to nibble the edges and winds up taking the count full. Because hes such a K pitcher, he winds up running up a big pitch count and is usually over 100 pitches by 6 innings
