Just got back to BR from a great weekend spent in Houston. Couple takeaways from the weekend.
The environment for all three games was spectacular. Saturday was special with all the home runs hit. Conger's grandslam was fricking awesome..
Thought the people we dealt with were all really nice. If you're looking to head to a Astros game from out of town, The Sam Houston Hotel was pretty legit. Close enough to walk to MMP, nice rooms and a friendly/helpful staff.
Something you guys may not have noticed.
Carlos Gomez- the dude is healthy and freaking explosive. Yeah yeah I know what happened Friday. However, I was able to watch him attempt 2 steals this weekend and came away thoroughly impressed. Correa went yard on one attempt, and the other was a ball in the dirt where they didn't even attempt a throw. I'm mentioning these steals because I was impressed with his lead/jump/overall speed. CarGo was taking some sizable leads and had no trouble getting back to the bag. He was also getting some great jumps and finishing with some nice top end speed. Wasn't able to catch interviews, but I watched this dude like a hawk to see how he was getting along with the guys. Plenty of emphatic high fives, slaps on the butt, and some great reactions from the guys when he made plays. Really excited about his potential here.
That roughly sums it up. Lots of other cool tidbits to bring back to BR with me. Great series and the Stros are 2-1 with me in attendance, take that shite anyday...

It's because more people will watch NY/BOS. Rarely has anything to do about good matchups, Detroit Boston was the game a couple weeks ago and both those teams are garbage.
