Need a better outing from McHugh this time out. Still say we trade for Puig, call up all the young guys and get Gomez, Rasmus, Castro tf outta here. Build for the #Future

this team is just ice cold right now.. go figure its going into the rangers series. But anyway would be nice to stumble across a few runs in this one and win the series.

Would be a good confidence boost heading in to the Ranger series. Time for the young bats to turn it on

trade for Puig
How bad is our offense that I consider this a reasonable option?
Everyone pray for LMJ's elbow

I don't want Puig. Would much rather sign someone like Desmond in the offseason

I need Bregman to hit everything oppo tonight. That's his goal.
Posted on 8/3/16 at 9:08 am to texastiger38
I think if he can get one 2-4 game under his belt he can start to get rolling. He's just pressing so hard right now trying to drive everything
Posted on 8/3/16 at 9:09 am to Pnels08
Do we need to bring back Pedro and Jobu?
Posted on 8/3/16 at 9:12 am to DynaMike
Why not both Desmond AND Puig?!?
Posted on 8/3/16 at 9:13 am to MegaTiger3
Puig LF Desmond CF George RF. we stacked

Puig's play has continued to regress and his attitude doesn't justify taking the chance. There will be several solid OF bats available in the winter. If we are going to take a risk on a guy like that I would rather it be a SP

If that was the lineup I think I'd be:
Springer CF
Desmond LF
Puig RF
Puig and Springer have the arms.

Puig is a jackass and I don't care. A .260 hitter with a .320 OBP and sub 20% K-rate would be a ten fold improvement over most of the trash in our lineup.
I hope yall aren't getting too hung up on Ian Desmond. It's not going to happen. He'll get a $100 million contract. Can't see the Astros doing that.
He's also a huge candidate for regression. He's not a .300 hitter. Based on his career trends, it's likely he falls back below .270 with a below average OBP while striking out 180 times a year. If Texas chooses not to re-sign him, I'm sure they'll gladly take his cheap 2016 results and our 1st round draft pick

Also, since June 21 Puig is batting:
.308/.390/.440 with a 131 wRC+ 8.6%BB 15.2%K
That is really fricking good.

Cespedes, Dexter Fowler, Josh Reddick, Michael Saunders, Trumbo, Beltran, Jose Bautista and Franklin Guttierez will all be FAs as well and I may be missing some players

Chances at Cespedes or Dexter??
Posted on 8/3/16 at 9:52 am to texastiger38
I've been thinking Altuve needs to sit Bregman down and give him a talk. Be a contact hitter until you are adjusted to major league pitching. Then start hitting for power. That strategy has worked out pretty well for Altuve.

Fowler will probably work out a deal with the Cubs for a lot more money, perhaps the same with Cespedes and the Mets, but that takes away two suitors for everyone else
Posted on 8/3/16 at 9:54 am to ShaneTheLegLechler
I don't know about Cespedes he will most likely walk due to that crowded outfield with Bruce, Granderson, Conforto
