I am proud to say I did not see anything after the failed double steal by Mini-Straw and Straw with 2 outs in a 1 run game with only 3 outs left for the win.

Did anyone ever get the details on that colossal frick up?

Dusty said Stubbs tried to steal on his own: “I talked to Stubbs after the game and asked him where he was going & he said the guy was slow to the plate and he thought he could steal third.’ I said ‘That’s a baserunning mistake.’ He was already in scoring position.”

Dusty: "Boy, this is tough to take."

Very bold of him, standing on ice that is barely thick enough to be more than surface tension

Altuve is getting a well-deserved day off today.

These players are humans. They are feeling weight not only of the firing of their manager and gm and all the media attention on them as cheaters, but also the demoralizing last 8 months in this country of lockdowns and loss of freedom and normalcy.

They just spend 2 weeks on the road not allowed to leave their hotel unless it was going to play the game that day at the stadium.

They are mentally and emotionally destroyed like most Americans are who know what's really happening here.

Hinch called Dusty and said he saw Jose hit a nice shot to RF, and it would be a good time to sit him.

On another note, it is so damn evident, outside of Correa, these guys are going through the motions.

I sincerely doubt Verlander has any arm issues, and also think it's likely that half of the veteran pitchers on the IL in MLB are FOS.

Go tell that to a millionaire who cares. These guy's make millions playing a game, that should be enough incentive to suck it up. If they're feeling guilty, too bad. Stupid people do stupid shite.

Baker said he doesn’t think Alvarez will play the field when he returns. “We tried to have Yordan play the field in spring training and then his knees got sore and he couldn’t play for a couple days.”

RIP Tucker. That pushes Brantley back into the OF. Tucker to the bench.

The Astros have 7 blown saves this season so far.

If they didn’t blow those games, they’d be 14-3 right now.

On the other hand, I'm sure there's also the thought of bringing back one of Springer or Brantley, possibly Yuli and hope to get JV healthy and give it one last shot with this group in 2021. But its clear they're going nowhere fast this season.

It's all about JV, IMO. I could be mistaken but I think they're on the hook for his salary no matter what next season. Any vet deal counts right? If he's hurt, that's 33 million against the luxury tax straight down the shitter. Doesn't seem possible to assemble a championship team in that scenario and I think they'd look towards the future. Probably wouldn't spend big on any of those guys and instead start retooling for the 4 years they have left of Altuve and Bregman (and Yordan). Trading Greinke and Correa would make sense in that scenario.

With the extension of Dusty, I think it is clear what Click plans to do with this team.

Springer will play out this season.
Correa will be traded before next season begins.
JV will be trade bait next season, if he can get healthy.

Astros will limp through 2021 season. Hope to be competitive again 2022.

All that said... can they please bring up Alvarez already? He can not possible be worse than having Straw in the lineup.

That lineup looks like a recipe for 2 runs, but I do like seeing some Toro in the field. Would like to see him lock up that utility role so they can non tender Amedisys.

I found it hilarious how these baseball talking heads kept yapping about Dusty being a perfect hire, and we literally said the opposite. Turns out we're 100% right after all.

And I must say us not winning last year is hurting more and more by the day cuz that IMO was our last chance to win it all. We had not only the best team by far, but one of the best teams of all time, but couldn't finish the job against a lesser team (even though their pitching is awesome). I think our little 3 year run is over and sooner than later, we might need to rebuild because we're not a title team this year, nor next year, nor the year after that.

If y’all had to guess would you think that Greinke is MAGA? He is kind of eccentric and cocky like Bauer and Cutler (both MAGA) but then on the other hand he kind of uses his personal issues as a crutch and is a bit of a drama queen.

Just think if Hader hadn’t blown that save in the Wild Card game (like a 5% chance) you’d have likely won a second title, mate.

Ouch!
