I'm aware, hence the decisions.... If he produced again do you offer him a fair market value? Same with Verlander, Gurriel, Springer, Reddick, Peacock, etc.... The question is can the Astros afford to resign or replace them with MLB talent, or do they dip into the minors and see how they do at the expense of the club?

Verlander isn’t a free agent after this year

I’m sure they’ll try to resign one or two and fill the rest with guys from the minors/smaller signings

Reddick is an obvious casualty on that list.

Brantley - I’d like to have him back, but there are factors
Verlander - signed through 2021
Gurriel - if price is right re: age
Springer - I’ve always been a sign Springer, trade or let Correa walk guy
Reddick - gone
Peacock - likely gone

Yeah I don’t see Reddick and Peacock being priorities. Tough to see Brantley back as well honestly. Maybe Gurriel takes a cheap short term extension.

Springer is the one I think they will look to lock up and may mean Correa not coming back the year after. Correa could definitely be on the trade market this winter

ETA Above is a good summary

My biggest thing can the Astros compete with a sub 200m payroll moving forward knowing their young players.....

With Springer, Correa, Peacock, Gurriel up for extension

If the young guys step up yes, if not no

I’m sure they’ll look to make some cheap moves to fill the gaps as well maybe they hit on something

They should still be decent just maybe take a step back to 85-90 win territory

Right now the Astros don't seem to have much in the way of replacing Reddick, Gurriel, Brantley, Peacock...

Young bullpen has been fantastic so far so if they believe in them that takes care of Peacock. Tucker may be able care of either Brantley or Reddick but it leaves obvious holes moving forward as I'm unsure who the Astros have to replace unless they dip into FA.

I think everyone knew they weren’t gonna win 105 games for the next decade

I'm aware, the main thing like I've stated is how do Astros feel about salary restrictions and that many experts believe they won't reach 200m payroll.

With 2020 being shortened the Astros ranked 4th in payroll with 65million guaranteed. In 2021 that rises to 115million and the #7 payroll.

Need Greinke to have an efficient 6 inning outing. It’s getting real thin real fast in the middle of this bullpen

Ted needs to be selective here. Canning is all over the place.

Good cut and hit it in the air. No problem with that out.

I'd like to see a replay, but I didn't think Yuli went around on that.

You'd think the umps would be in strike mode today after last night's abortion.
