Going for the sweep today boys.

By looks of the pitching matchup this could be a pretty high scorer. Today should be an emotional roller coaster.

I'm ready to melt at the first signs of Fiers struggling.

I may melt if he does pitch well.

A little Meh. The results have rarely matched the stuff. But if you replace Fiers with Cashner, that's got the potential to be an upgrade.

Done had a damn good time this weekend at the games. Dating back to last season the Astros are 7-1 with me in attendance. Looking for the second sweep this season!

Don't want to waste prospects on someone who isn't an obvious, immediate upgrade. I hate this idea of making a trade to give the appearance that you're trying to win now.

Did some reading on Cashner. It appears he had nagging injuries early in the season but his recent good outings have also come from big changes.

He's worked on a new slider grip in recent weeks and thrown it twice as much lately. It's averaging 87 mph with tight break while his baseball is up over 94 on average. His command is really good with the changes, too. I can see why teams are on him hard as rental.

With our luck, he'll Kazmir on us though.

I'd be interested to see the price, he's a rental correct?

Yeah, a rental. Seems like this is going down today. If we get him, the Fiers era is ovah (maybe they'll take Fiers and a B- prospect that they rate higher, if we're lucky)?

That would be nice.

Fiers might be ok at Petco, that's a pretty large place

It's not the heat, it's humidity.

Or the manager.

@MLBNetworkRadio
Luhnow & the #Astros still waiting for Y. Gourriel to obtain is work visa. Aiming to have him join the team mid-August for Cardinals series.

@MLBNetworkRadio
Luhnow says the #Astros could add a left-handed reliever to the bullpen, but he doesn't feel like he has to make a move.

Yeah there was an article the other day saying he's been at the facility in Florida working out. Can't play in games till he gets his visa.

Plan is to have him play 2-3 games in GCL, then Corpus

Some very interesting tweets from them

Luhnow says the #Astros could add a left-handed reliever to the bullpen, but he doesn't feel like he has to make a move.

#Astros GM Jeff Luhnow says the team has been in on Aroldis Chapman before, but won't say if Houston is in the mix for him now.

Luhnow & the #Astros still waiting for Y. Gourriel to obtain is work visa. Aiming to have him join the team mid-August for Cardinals series

And frankly the most interesting one to me is this

Luhnow says he "fully expects" Joe Musgrove to join the #Astros in Sept.. Says the team has "a lot" of AAA players ready to contribute.

Looks like sale threw quite a tantrum and got suspended by the whitesox. I bet he was pissed about the trade rumors.

What is the normal amount of time required to obtain a work visa? Anyone have a clue?
