Swanson is the ideal scenario IMO. Then they can get Tucker or Benny baseball. I don't expect to get Swanson but that would be awesome. With how split people are on talent it seems like some people could definitely fall to the comp pick so I would like to see them go under slot with one of their top two picks

Agree, Swanson at 2 if available...but if not and they take Bregman it's probably for under slot.
Then Tucker at 5, also probably for a little under, and you have some money for the best player that has fallen to 37.

I would be great with Benintendi at 5. He would sign below slot and I like him as a player. When you produce like that in the SEC that speaks louder than physical tools

If Swanson is gone that would be a good haul. If they get Rodgers at 2 they may prefer the college bat of Benny baseball over tucker...I would be happy with either.

I agree there are players out there with higher ceilings than Bregman, but in this particular draft I don't think there are all that many with the major ceilings you mention.
I think we can all assume a SS is likely to be taken with one of the first two picks, but I also think there's a better chance they are traded in the future than being in the Astros lineup every day...so I'm not going to get riled up over it.

How would those of you opposed to Bregman feel if we got him at 5? Say we took Rodgers and Bregman slid to us at 5? I think I would feel more comfortable with that over taking him at 2 then rolling the dice on a HS bat like Tucker at 5. JMO
