I was really hoping he had gotten his shite together and could be a decent starter for us. What happened with ARod

We're struggling again. 2-6 since sweeping the Rockies.

15-7 in April
16-13 in May
12-14 in June

Disturbing trend. The 10 game win streak was a blessing. Because since that ended we've gone 25-27... that's bad news during this stretch of good teams.

I don't care to see Obie on the big club ever again. Bush league move and he gave up

Obie says it was unintentional. The situation exacerbated by the fact that it was A-Rod and the previous batter hit a home run.

I'm not inclined to believe him seeing as he didnt put up any fight when he was thrown out. And the fact that he was demoted asap and Hinch immediately apologized in his post game.

His reaction and the rest of the team's reaction tells me all I need to know. He did it intentionally because he wanted out

Any ideas for the corresponding move? Straily? Feliz maybe?

25-27

That's pretty much the team we expected coming into this season. 80 wins was a pretty generous estimate for this club. Now, almost halfway through the season, we are 9 games over .500 despite the fact that we have been throwing Fauxsto, Obie, Wojo, a struggling McHugh and a couple young guns that can barely get through 5 innings. A 4 game lead is really impressive, even if it's due to LA, OAK and SEA underperforming. We lost one of our best bats and a veteran starter who was doing a decent job eating innings and giving us a chance to win games. It's starting to become clear that Luhnow is looking to make a move to improve our rotation, so hopefully that happens soon.

It's super fricking frustrating to lose games the way we have lost games recently, but in the grand scheme of things I'm really happy with the way things have gone so far.

OK, that's my sunshine post of the month. Hopefully we can buck this little slump

Solid post. I agree, we are playing with house money this year. If we get to the playoffs, it'll just be an added bonus.

I'm just glad that the last 3 years actually mean something now

Straily is pitching tonight so the timing would work, but I wonder if they may bring up some bullpen help for the time being. Maybe just to get them through the next few games, or with the off day Thursday you could skip the turn and put it off to the following week. Maybe by then they would know how they want to handle the Singleton situation as it would be close to Qualls' return, and they could make the decision with that in mind.

Doing exactly what needed to be done. He'll spend a couple of weeks learning his lesson. They should recall Buchanan for long relief and let Fausto get a start. Obie will be back.

Completely agreed. I'm happy with how Hinch and the organization handled this. Hinch said he wanted it on record that this isn't a reflection of how the organization operates or even how Obie operates, he let his emotions get the best of him.

I think that leaves the door open for a return with the club down the road but he is really going to have earn guys respect back for that BS. Everyone has bad days at this level but you can't mentally tap out when shite hits the fan.

Let's get back on the right track on Sunday.
