A W is a W, but two solo shots and a ton of men LOB.

Same here after 2 clean outings

But the Orioles have whipped written all over them too.

Catching them at the right time

Angels lost too so we're 9 ahead of them as well.

Divisions aren't won in May so I'm not celebrating the standings on May 26th. What I am loving though is that they're even further back now than when they started the 10 game winning streak.

I remember when we were playing well after April of last year and just couldn't gain any ground on them. We'd win, they'd win. They'd lose, we'd lose. I like being on the other side of that trend.

kind of a weird ideal, the whole Brett Dolan-Dave Raymond experiment. You have to have that former athlete in the mix or it just doesn't flow right.

I do like Brett Dolan though.

Agreed about not getting too excited in May, but it's pretty damn encouraging we have not played very well for the last week and still find ourselves 9 games up. Another big hot streak in July/August is on the horizon

Haha I didn't mean to imply not get excited about our record in May. First 2 weeks of the month were awesome

I was more so agreeing about the divisions aren't won in May comment

Looking ahead. MLB hired some kind of dumbass scheduler. We go from Houston to Minnesota, to Arlington, to KC, then back to Houston. Why Arlington isn't the first or last stop, I don't know.

3-2 the rest of May gets us a 20-9 month. As I said to close out April, avoid double digits losses in a month as often as possible and you'll be doing well. We've got a shot to do it again.

I gotcha, just pointing out the record in general since this is one of the tougher months for us on paper

I'm proud of Joe. Got back to his efficient, no walks allowed ways.

The Root guys were just talking about him.

They said his problem is he throws too many strikes

When he gets that curveball working, he's tough

Speaking of curveballs...what's the latest on Jabroni?

All of a sudden, June is looking like a pretty important month as well. A lot of division games and a mix of teams above or hovering around .500

3 @ Texas (24-25)
4 @ Royals (20-27)
3 vs Angels (25-26)
3 vs Red Sox (26-21)
4 @ Oakland (22-25)
3 @ Seattle (21-28)
3 vs Oakland

Vs Yankees (27-18) to close out the month

So we host some good teams in the Sox and Yankees, some away series vs bad teams and a big ole chance to help ourselves with the division lead.
