Indians got that Rangers fluke arse luck.

We've got no shot against this team in the postseason if we meet. None. Not as we are now.
Yeah we might not be favored if it started tomorrow, but to say we have no shot is ridiculous

The dumbassery on this team sometimes astounds me

We have a 1 in 5 shot, if Keuchel is pitching, to be precise.

None!

Its down to Musgrove to avoid a sweep and no Keuchel on Monday. Hopefully we're not staring at a 4 game losing streak.

Keuchel, McCullers, and *player to be acquired in trade* would be starting 6 games in a 7 game series. We'll be fine

I understand that
But you need to understand they don't bat
Certain teams will have another team beat before they hit the field, and we can't afford for that to be Cle over us
We don't see Cle again until playoff time if we're fortunate enough, and they have a pretty good book on our hitters
Of course there's a long way to go, but when you can't get a lead on their starters, you know you're not beating their pen.
My personal expectations for the Astros this year definitely took a minor hit w these last 2 games, and I'm hoping Luhnow feels some urgency to make the deal happen.

I mean yeah in a perfect world, hopefully tomorrow is the last time we play them all year cause they get eliminated by someone else
They're probably the last team anyone wants to face in a playoff series for many reasons with #1 being their lockdown bullpen
The reality is (and I'm sure I'll say this many times over next few months) we just need to win the division, preferably with the best record so we secure home field advantage. But once the playoffs start, it's gonna be who is streaking at the right time. If the Astros from the first 18 days of May show up, you gotta like our chances
We need to pray to the baseball gods to bless us with minimal injuries as well as pray for Ludlow to win the trade deadline

Last year at home we won the series and then split on the road in the second half. Beat Kluber twice putting 9 runs on him in 2 games. The indians who went to the WS
Im not going to throw in the towel on the playoffs because we lost a series in May in which literally no starting pitcher on EITHER team except maybe salazaar (who pitches tomorrow) will pitch more than a game in a playoff scenario.

My gawd... Astros went from best record in baseball to "hope they make the playoffs" in two crappy games.

I've committed myself to respecting the length of the season this year.
Some people in here might be better off to do the same. There are some shitty hot takes in this thread.

Holy shite. 2 out of 162.
I'm speechless.

Mike Fiers actually pitched well today. Sipp continues to be usable. There were positives.

Glad I missed the game today.

Agreed. Even though we lost, considering Fiers and Sipp did fairly well, I'm taking today as somewhat a positive. The offense didn't look good, but whatever.

DATting after dark
I'd like to see us make an early trade for for a Rays starter. And it's not who you think. Alex Cobb or Jake Odorizzi.
Cobb: 56.1IP 56H 3.67 ERA 6.6 K/9 2.2 BB/9
Odorizzi: 37IP 26H 3.16ERA 7.1K/9 1.7 BB/9 .195 BAA
Cobb is a free agent after the season. Odorizzi is controlled till 2020. The Rays are probably more willing to trade Cobb and hang on to Odorizzi for a while. I'm not sure if the Rays would have an interest in trading early or if Luhnow would even care to make such a move until later. He could be an upgrade at the back of the rotation and improve us until we make a big trade for a starter at the deadline.
