Man yesterday would have been huge. Winning this series would have been a nice surprise. But splitting this series would be good too.

Someone tweeted yesterday's lineup then. Oh, well.

In Astros North news.

Unsurprising: Chris Carter is in an 0/20 thats dropped his average to .238 and he's 3rd in the NL in strikeouts.

Make you hate Gomez more: Domingo Santana is hitting .248 with a .363OBP 7 doubles, 3HR 12RBI.

Surprising: Jonathan Villar is hitting .296 with 9 doubles 1HR 12RBI 11SB 20 walks and a .397 OBP

Welp, it's time for the "can he do it?" portion of the season to start. An eye towards 2017...

Let Giles close. Maybe the opportunity turns him on.
If they have a pulse, call up Moran and Reed by the end of June.

Paulino pitched like he was a little jealous of Musgrove getting bumped to AAA. 5 scoreless, 3 hits.

Paulino, Musgrove, Devenski, Feliz

These guys needs their chances to start. They have better potential but a lower floor (well, not Musgrove) than our current guys. We need to see if they can be better.

I want us to win every game, but it would not be the worst thing in the world to play ourselves completely out of it as quickly as possible. Then 2017 moves can happen.

This year has been frustrating as hell but we are still in great shape looking forward. It's easy to lose sight of that sometimes, I know I certainly do.

Yeah, I haven't lost sight of the future at all. We have a lot of arms ready to contribute in the majors. Didn't even mention relievers like Hoyt, Guduan and Jankowski.

Moran, Reed, Bregman and Fisher will be MLBers by 2017. Fortunately, these guys play were the big holes are (NOTE: we can keep Colby and move him back to CF).

Somehow Hoyt is 29 years old. they need to call him up now before he hits the down slide of his career
