DAT 5/12 Angels (Heaney) @ Astros (U-baw) 7:10 PM CDT

The good ole boys won an old fashioned pitchers duel last night to start a new winning streak. The DAT was hopping and the energy level was high. It was a fun place to be.
Home Lance was in full effect, pitching perhaps his best regular-season game as an Astro over 8 innings. The Angel batters were befuddled all night and weren't exactly falling all over themselves trying to get to the batter's box.
And their end-game of taking the first 2 games of the series was ruined.
Meanwhile, Uncle Mike and Yuli, professional hitters extraordinaire, got the Tic and the Tac in the bottom of the 8th and came away as the big winners.
U-baw hopes to continue his good work. Last 3 starts: 1.80 ERA.
It is time to go get 'em Astros!

I was hoping they'd let Lance go for the complete game but I guess the long half inning nixed that. Feels good to be back on track.

Yuli becoming one of my all time favorite Astros. Dude is a beast. The HR off Kershaw is immortal. How can you not love that dude

Yeah, Yuli earned my respect early on
I've never considered him on the decline
Cubans can just flat out play the game at a high level
I recall watching USA amateur teams try to compete with Cuba back in the day, and they got slaughtered

Was thinking the same. If he had been playing a quarter of the level he is now, we win that series and possibly the WS too.
In addition to his bat, I don’t think it can be overstated how good he is defensively.

Yuli admitted he handled 2020 all wrong and came back from the unexpected months off out of shape. He was also worried about his next contract (a valid excuse for him, unlike Maldy's bullshite last month).
