What is everyones love affair with jake? Dude can't hit. He is a GREAT 4th of option though with his speed and fielding. I agree jake should start over gomez pathetic self sometimes, but I would much rather see Kemp in lf, springer cf, and colby rf (although I know it would be colby cf springer rf in that senerio)

Since this time last year, Jake has played in 121 games with a .193 average (51/269) 10 doubles 2 triples 6HR 23RBI 14 walks 100 strikeouts. With a 34% K rate.
I know he's not a jackass but that's pretty much where the differences end between he and Gomez. Dude isn't good. In fact Gomez has been a little bit better than Jake as an Astro. I understand we hate Gomez...but more playing time for Marisnick isn't the solution to solve the problem.

And with Phillips gone it seems like there aren't many outfielders in the system that could make a difference over the next few years unless someone emerges at Corpus this year or there is a position change.

Riley Ferrell had to have surgery and is probably out for the year. That blows, I hoped he might be ready to make an impact in the bullpen next year.

Poop. He seemed to have improved his control, too. But we really won't need him until 2018 at the earliest.
