As we go on, we remember all the times we had together. And as our lives change from whatever, we will still be friends forever.

So is next season when they lift the local blackout rules for MLB.tv?

Moving on from Dusty will hopefully get a lot of things fixed, starting with who should start at catcher.

This team has issues but the core is still in place and we just saw the difference a competent manager makes.

Starting pitching needs to be addressed as well as a stable bat in outfield.

The only team In any sport to ever lose 4 home games in a 7 game series and they've done it twice in 4 years.

Minute Maid is 23 years old. By both the Atlantan and Dicaprionic standards, it's ancient and needs to be replaced. Priority number 1 this off season. Whatever unfinished shell of a stadium we can get built in 5 months will be a better place to call home. Hell I think parts of Colt Stadium are still erect in Mexico. Bring that sucker back and we'll play there while the real stadium is built like we did with the Dome.

Hoo, you realize we have to see that picture every time we open this thread for the entire offseason? Why would you torture us like that?

I think you mentioned it in the thread last night, I'm really torn on just promoting Espada or reshaping the coaching staff.

No real fear in Espada doing things the same way Dusty did, or at least I hope he doesn't and continuity is good. Although, it seems like Snitker has legit buzz to be a manager soon so there could still be some shuffling.

But at the same time an established manager could maybe rejuvenate a group that's been together for a while. Not sure who that would be, seems like Counsell is available but Mets have the most buzz. Poaching Lovullo from the DBacks would be sweet but idk if he's the type of guy to leave right as they are starting to build something that is potentially sustainable. We will learn a lot about the dynamics of the decision making in that FO with this hire though I think.

Yeah idk. If you just promote Estrada, he's likely to keep the rest of the staff in place. How much of a shakeup is that with the same voices and leadership structure? Then again how much of a shakeup does a team need coming off 7 straight ALCS vs just adding some common sense and cooperation back into the mix.

Also I'm prepared for Dusty to pull a Leo and drop a "I'm not frickin leaving" on us.

Although I watched his post game last night and he sounds like a man that's ready to go home. Mentioned cheating his Daughter and grandkids while he chased a ring. Said he hasn't been home since February. Misses his hunting dogs. He really does sound like he's done.

Dana Brown needs his guy in there. They need to be on the same page. Maybe it is Espada, or maybe not.

Y'all were depressing me with all this talk of platoon corner OF's and MOR starters. I'm tired of that shite. Crane shite down his leg last year and it's time to spend more of that money from the $15 Crawford Bock he's peddling. I've certainly contributed my fair share.

I wanna see some aggression for once. Gray, Montgomery, Snell, and Nola are out there. Go get one. I don't trust Framber and Javi. It's great when they're on, it's brutal when they aren't. JV is old. At some point, he's gonna slow down. We need some insurance.

If you do that, you create enough pitching depth to build a trade package for an OF bat. Young starting pitching with control has a lot of value. Leverage it to make a move while this core is still together. Same thing. Abreu is old. Peña regressed. Teams will adjust to Yainer. We need more.

Cheap depth isn't enough to keep this thing going. Not when teams like the Phillies and Rangers are supplementing their homegrown talent with stars while we sign old dudes to 3 year contracts.

I would think that Dana Brown would want his guy managing the team. I would put my money on the cheapest Latin that Crane will pay for. Someone has to come in and manage an army of fragile Machismo's.

Just getting rid of FODB and Shitty Catcher could be a 5-6 game improvement by itself.

Sucks arse we lost but is what it is. Getting this far with FODB is a miracle though. Have a solid offseason, be healthy, and they'll be back in the same spot.

He did slow down. but he slowed down from excellent to pretty good.

In total for us this year he was 8-4 with a 3.23 ERA. I think we paid a prospect package for last year's JV. Probably could have gotten similar production cheaper so we likely overpaid. But he was about our only useful starter in the 2nd half.
