Peacock gives up 4 runs in the first, including a 3 run HR from Werth.

Astros get first and third with no outs in the bottom of the first. With Springer on 3rd, He gets tagged out at third on a grounder to third by Altuve. Beltran pop fly to RF.

Reddick grounds out to first.

Yeah, both Peacock and Chapman are out of options.

They both gone.

ETA: Sipp still can't get out left handed hitters. He faced 3 batters- all lefties. Triple, walk, walk.

Chapman is out to prove that "every left-handed pitcher has at least some value" is a myth.

It appears Springer is quite comfortable being back in CF. He made a great catch in the gap.

I think that's why Jake makes the team - a great pinch runner and defender who will make up a stupid good combo with George and Reddick for the late innings.

Exactly what I've been thinking. Great late inning defensive sub, especially if Beltran is out there.

I have a very strong feeling that this is what I'll bitch about the most this season. So frustrating when he can't do his one job

Almost on cue... Jake miss plays a ball in left field.

I know none of these pitchers will be on the big league club, so I'm not terribly concerned about all of the runs given up.... But the Astros offense has not been good yet this spring.

It's only a few games but shite. Our no name pitchers are getting shelled by everybody and our starting offense can't do anything against the nobodies.

I like the look of that pitcher Valdez.

It's frustrating that RootSports does not show the pitch speed.

I'm pretty sure there's been at least one botched play in left by a different Astro in every game at the new spring home park this week. Seems like the wind and sun are a real issue there.

Down 4-0 to the Mets

-Morton had a good outing
-Brady Rogers got pummeled
-Jake is 2 for 2

And Correa made this nice play:

Damn. Pitching getting shelled again while the offense gets shut down. Ludlow put the curse on Brady Rodgers.

Yesterday, JL called him someone he was excited about. A guy who, like Keuchel, wasn't heralded as a prospect, doesn't light up a radar gun but found a way to get outs. Then he gets hammered the next game. Lol

I'm not stressed about the pitching getting shelled. These guys are way down on the depth chart.

But the bats have been awful so far this spring.

Now, if Keuchel, LMJ, and McHugh don't start throwing in a game soon, I'd say we're back to that "significant worry" conversation.

According to McTaggart, Morton was sitting between 95-97 with his fastball today.
