Yeah, only two categories he leads are games and at-bats. Imagine this inning had the catcher who can't make contact except to hit into double plays not been playing.
Maldonado catching for defense doesn't make sense because his defense and pitch-calling suck. And it makes even less sense because when you fall behind 3 runs in the second inning.
With Maldonado at the plate, they become the equivalent of a Wishbone football offense trying to come back down 3 touchdowns and can't because they don't have a passing game that can erase such deficits.
