I'm just spit balling here but do y'all think the Astros would go for a higher AAV for 8 years? Like 270/8? AS far as the front office is concerned I think the problem is more the length than the money.

Yes.

Like I said yesterday. At minimum it's a forearm strain and that's susually a couple weeks of rest before resuming any throwing.

Yeah, I doubt we see Lance again this post-season.

I figured either George or Carlos would walk, I didn't imagine both would go. I seriously doubt Crain coughs up the cash to keep him - watch him stay in the division just to stick it to Crain.

He likes it in Houston. Once the money is settled if he signed back, all the past contract negotiation butthurt would disappear.

I completely believe he and Daniella love Houston. But if we won't give him at least 8 years, he is gone.

whats the difference between only getting 160 million and 250?

about 90 million

Exactly. Just because the numbers are large doesn't make him feel differently about it than anyone else. What he's expecting is to basically double his pay and have it guaranteed for a minimum of 8-10 years.

Why would anyone in their right mind turn that down? I love my employer, but if I got that offer, I'd be calling my kids to tell them where to find me, I'd be gone so fast!

I mean 8 years he would have just turned 35 so it definitely makes sense. We also have a good chunk of money coming off the books after this year with Verlander and Grienke. I agree with most on here that if the Astros were to ever splurge on a contract this has to be it just because of what he brings to clubhouse and his frick you attitude on the field.

Jeter was 35 when the Yankees won the world series in 2009.

Heyman is an idiot. I’m not expecting McCullers back but I take nothing that guy says seriously

It's too easy to imagine a world where Crane offers a steaming pile of shite for the opening offer and negotiations doesn't even get a chance to begin

I hope I'm wrong, but the more he talks the more I think he's just going to take the highest offer and that's that.

I just really hope it's not the fricking Rangers.

8 years with the right AAV would make perfect sense for both sides, considering his age. Somebody is going to back up the Brinks truck though.

Time for Correa to be knocked down a peg or two. He's gotten pretty big for his britches. CRANE WILL DO IT HIS WAY.

That's why it's so easy to imagine!

Yea re-reading Correa's recent interview I guess I glossed over that fact

Seeing more reports of LMJ out for ALCS, but “ no concerns about long term”….

That’s merely MLB code for, “we have to delay this career jeopardizing injury just long enough so that the blame can’t be put on Dusty Baker.”

Meanwhile, the people that understand the truth are pissed… the road to Dusty’s 5 different teams winning the ALDS is long and littered with the battle scarred arms of lefties and righties alike.

frick off, Dusty Baker

Jake Kaplan
@jakemkaplan
The Astros say the Minute Maid Park roof will be closed for both Game 1 and Game 2.

Josh Reddick will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 1, Gary Pettis before Game 2.
