Dan Fouts on why TO didn't make the HOF

Fouts was on the selection committee this year, and from his comments, it doesn't sound like he'd vote for TO anytime soon.

"I think his numbers are very worthy, but again on the other side of it, I think his actions on and off the field, on the sidelines, in the locker room, and the fact he played for so many teams and was such a great player, the question that comes back to me is if he was such a great player, why did so many of those teams get rid of him?" Fouts said in a visit with The Midday 180 in Nashville. "And I think we all know the answers."

There is no legitimate reason so don't even try.
All we are seeing is the media wants to take their pound of flesh from TO before giving him what he is due. They are trying to assert dominance and it's pretty pathetic to watch. You might as well shite on the entire Hall of Fame.

The cruel irony is T.O. is more deserving of the HOF than Fouts. Yet T.O. has to win his approval somehow.

Fouts needs his voting privileges revoked

Randy Moss literally quit trying in Oakland

He will get in ebentually but this isn't really a new thing from voters.
Having a long history with a smaller number of teams has been one of the ways great players become esteemed as legendary

Because he could produce. Eventually they decided it wasn't worth it.

Moss was maybe the best talent of the last 15 years.
But that was embarrassing.

There's the reason for the snub.
I think the only way he softens his image if he gets an analyst role and walks a right rope and people change their views.

Meh laugh all you want. Not saying I agree with Fouts, however TO in McNabbs ear is quite fresh. Same with him acting like he's pulling his pants down, etc.

He had a chance to change his image after he played his heart out during the Super Bowl. And then he ran his mouth about McNabb and destroyed everything. It always had to be about him. He never played on another team that won a playoff game. He finished his career with a horrible Buffalo team that didn't want him back and the worst Bengals team of the Marvin Lewis era (and they didn't want him back either).
His post-Super Bowl career is known for 3 things:
1. Sit-ups in his parking lot
2. 25 million reasons for being alive
3. That's my quarterback
These are facts.

He was featured in a commercial that played during the Super Bowl.
Next question.

15 years into his career?

Isaac Bruce has similar stats to Owens, wasn't a clubhouse cancer, and has a Super Bowl ring, yet I don't hear people being outraged over the HOF passing him over on the same ballot. Seriously, compare the two:
Owens: 219 G, 201 GS, 1078 Rec, 15934 yards
Bruce: 223 G, 201 GS, 1024 Rec, 15208 yards
That's about as close as two guys can be, yet every "soft" factor tilts in Bruce's direction. Teams couldn't wait to be rid of TO, while Bruce played almost his entire career for one team as a locker room leader.
I'm curious why no one is writing these hot takes for Bruce, who seems to me more deserving of the honor than Owens (though I'd put both in).

Seriously, compare the two:
That's a huge difference.

An Isaac Bruce vs Andre Reed thread would have been more appropriate as i believe Bruce had more Rec/Yards/TDs in less seasons and yet Reed is in.
