Dolphins have a shite offense and a shite defense. Might be a small reason for the difference in the numbers.

ETA: I don't Dalton is a bad QB, and I think he's better than Tannehill (which isn't saying much), but that's a shitload of money for a mid-tier QB.

You are taking statistics in a vacuum. Tannehill doesn't have anyone near the talent of AJ Green to throw too.

Mike Wallace is overrated. Yes, he's a great deep threat, but he doesn't go up and get the ball.

Hopefully the structure is heavily incentive laden like Kaepernick. If not, the Bengals got hosed.

Edit: Can't wait 'til I get paid.

The Dolphins line is absolute dogshit too and they have zero run game. The Bengals aren't spectacular in either of those but they're certainly better than Miami.

Chandler Jones is going to destroy them this year.

Bill should put Jones at DT for this game. Whoever the dolphins find that can excecute a snap would shite there pants just looking at Chandler and Wilfork to block

I think the point is being missed re Tannehill.

Yeah his numbers aren't as good, but
1. He doesn't have AJ Green
2. He didn't just get 20 mil a year.

The point is that Tannehill can provide comparable output for 1/3 of the cost?

Has he lived up to the #8 overall pick?

Don't think the guy actually said Tannehill was better. Just that he'd take Tannehill over Dalton. And given the negligible difference in stats, I don't think anyone would say that's a crazy choice to make.

I don't know much about the Dolphins, but based on those stat lines, it's not obvious that Dalton is the better option of the two.

I went back and looked and profootballfocus actually ranked the Bengals line second last year. Didn't think it was that strong. Dolphins were 21st

Too early to tell. To his credit he has improved each year and is stuck on a crappy team.

I think Tannehill is likely a heartbreaking, big-game loser type but I'd take him over Dalton. I've seen enough to know what he is...middling.

No he hasn't but that has nothing to do with this discussion.

What would you rather have?
Andy Dalton at 20/year

Or

Tannehill at I don't know guess 10/year (current rookie contract is 3/year) with 10/year left over to put people around him?

I think Dalton is a better QB, so I would rather Dalton.

Crazy to think that the guys with the most economical contracts are now Tom Brady and Drew Brees.
