Yeah. Pretty big advantage to be able to give players playing time. Did wonders for Clint Capela.

Yep you get guys in your system working with coaches picked by the NBA franchise. Plus they get played a lot.

These 11 other teams basically all send their guys to one team now and have no say in how much they play or how they are used.

Plus these DLeague games are actually pretty entertaining.

I still don't get why they are naming them after the area code. That's some high school/ gang shite.

The Charlotte Hornets will add the 20th D-League team for the 2016-17 season, and is taking applications from cities in the Carolinas.

That is my only complaint with the Grizzlies D-league situation, I wish it was closer. They basically bought the Iowa Energy instead of creating a new team. I would love for it to be in Nashville or somewhere nearby in Arkansas or Mississippi.

The D-League is great b/c the NBA experiments with competition changes.

It would probably be in Lafayette or Shreveport one day to be close to the teams in Texas, and not compete with LSU.

Why don't they do more like baseball and have a AAA level that includes a lot of major cities? There are several Big Four cities without an NBA team (Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Baltimore, Columbus, Nashville, etc.) that could serve as host cities.
