Cricket has made its first-ever appearance at ESPN's annual awards, the ESPYS, after an acrobatic catch by West Indies allrounder Dwayne Bravo at the IPL was nominated as a 'Best Play'.

Bravo was recognised for a leaping, one-handed take on the boundary to dismiss Shane Watson in Chennai, a feat that also earned him the IPL's 'catch of the season' award. He sprinted to his left from long-on to get in line with what seemed a certain six from Watson, before jumping and arching back to pluck the ball over his head, and then kept his balance to avoid the rope.

What about that one where the guy jumped out the boundary to knock the ball back in. Then jumped back into the boundary to catch it?

Was that a different season?

First thing I thought.

There was also another one where the dude jumps and catches the ball (ball?) and then basically contorts himself on the way down to avoid going over the boundary.

All of those seem like they happened in the last six months or so.

I've seen multiple better catches than that from the sport of cricket, including some mentioned in this thread. Kind of weird that that's the play that brings cricket to the ESPYs
