The 1960 World Series is famous for Bill Mazeroski's walk off homer to win Game 7 and the title.
But that moment has obscured a statistical anomaly. The Yankees scored twice as many runs as the Pirates in the Series and still lost. The Yankees won their 3 games by 13, 12 and 10 runs. The Pirates won their 4 games by 1, 1, 3, and finally 1 (Mazeroski's walk off).
The Yankees hit .338 with 10 HRs and 27 extra base hits. The Pirates hit .256 with only 4 HRs. Yankees pitchers had an ERA of 3.54 including two complete game shutouts. Pittsburg pitchers had an ERA of 7.11.

Usain Bolt had the distinction of being the undisputed fastest human ever to live in both the 100 and 200m for over a decade, and people still actually debate who was the greatest athlete of all time.

According to ESPN, a horse is in the conversation…

2010 San Diego Chargers

9-7 record... missed the playoffs
San Diego had the worst special teams in the NFL in 2010. Special teams allowed four blocked punts (and had another deflected), three kickoff return touchdowns, and one punt return touchdown.
They concluded that San Diego was doomed by poor special teams play which largely contributed to their 2–5 start; indeed, in all five losses, special teams snafus accounted for the margin of defeat.

Tiger Woods has spent 683 weeks as world No. 1 – 352 weeks (more than six years) more than any other player in OWGR history (Greg Norman is second).
From 2002-05, Woods had 1,540 putts from 3 feet and in on the PGA Tour. He only missed three of them.
Woods had 142 consecutive PGA Tour events without missing a cut, from 1998-2005. That is 29 more than the second-longest streak in the Tour’s history (Byron Nelson, 113 in a row). There are only four other such streaks even half as long as Woods’.

That would be Jim Thorpe. Usain, in all his greatness in those 2 events still only count for 2 events.

Does being the fastest human being ever equal being the best athlete ever?
