Yes. They beat Philadelphia in week 17 to win the division and then beat them again in the wildcard round of the playoffs in 2009

I don't like the deal, but this is what QB's cost on the open market in the NFL. The Cowboys problem is not Romo, it's an awful offensive line and a patchwork running back corps. I think the amount of crap Romo takes is completely disproportionate to his sins. He's a good QB, in that level below the true elite.

Romo had the Cowboys over a barrel, as they had no one else on the team to take over the job and a pretty dismal QB crop in this year's draft. This deal was inevitable, but it's not the reason the Cowboys will go 8-8 for eternity.

agree with this..... He is NOWHERE NEAR the Leader he should be for being the most important part of the offense.... He is livin on his SO-CALLED fame as being A COWBOY. He has choked a ON of times........... NOW is his being A COWBOY QB[And the pressure that goes with it] Made a difference???? We may NEVER KNOW........................................

IMO he is NOT a top ten NFL QB... EVERY YEAR the so-called experts say DALLAS has SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Much talent and yet fail........ The QB position is part of that................

If Flacco set the market, then the Cowboys got a fricking bargain.

Romo is in the discussion for the fifth best QB in the league. Obviously, Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, and Brees are better, but anyone else is fair game. I think only Ryan, Eli, and Big Ben are the others in the same tier as Romo.

If Jerry gets hit by a train, then Dallas will have had the best off-season in the NFL. Romo is clearly good quite to quarterback a very good team. He just needs a lot of help on the offensive line and defense.

Completely agree. Maybe Flacco is on that tier, but you win a Super Bowl, you get paid.

Maybe. I always tend to be a little reluctant to move my QB rankings. I think they are better if they move around slow because good and bad runs of form happen. Like last year, Romo started off slow and absolutely crushed it in the second half. Season long stats like passer rating always seem screwy for at least 8 games.

ETA: I love watching Flacco's deep ball. This year, he can prove to me he belongs in the second tier. I have him no higher than 9th.

Romo is a better QB than Flacco. When the Ravens gave Flacco all that money, it was inevitable that Romo was going to get a ridiculous contract

Romo is an above average NFL QB. I don't have a problem with the deal. There is a new economic outlook in the NFL and it's QB-centric. I would much rather tie up Romo than be looking at drafting Matt Barkley or some other shite bag college QB coming out this year.
