I'll probably be one of the few to defend him...but he clearly didn't want that ball snapped. So I wouldn't put that on him.

If you read his lips, he said to the center "Why did you snap the ball?" But why even have that in the playbook?
The only time that play works is in high school football where kids aren't smart enough to understand. "Well there's NINE guys over here so let's shift our entire defense over and leave the center" Doesn't work against the Patriots of all teams.

Clearly even if that senerio happened, it was an illegal formation and a useless play regardless of how it played out
Clearly he still had it in the gameplan and ran it in a game he didn't need to, and looked like a lost puppy afterwards
It was a dumb play no matter how you slice it, snap it or not, it falls on Pagano.

Sadly that was way better than the actual fake. At least that guy ran a couple of steps before just crumbling to the ground and giving the ball to the other team.

It wouldn't have mattered, it was an illegal formation to begin with. I don't even think you can draw people offsides with an illegal formation, as it would be considered offsetting penalties.

The players screwed up the formation by not lining up on the ball. They lined up on the yard line (the big white line) but the ball was on like the 38 yard line, which put them 2 yards in the backfield.
I know you've seen it before, every high school team sets up in it before extra points. There were probably 2 options based on how the Patriots lined up to cover it, and they should have gone with option 3... take the delay.
