Center Kendrick Perkins has committed to signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers after he finalized a buyout with the Utah Jazz on Saturday, a source told ESPN.com.
Perkins was traded to the Jazz on Thursday in a three-team deal that sent guard Reggie Jackson to the Detroit Pistons and Enes Kanter, Steve Novak, Kyle Singler and D.J. Augustin to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He did not appear in a game for Utah.
Perkins was recruited directly by LeBron James to pick the Cavs, according to a source. He also drew heavy interest from the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs. The combination of a chance to win a championship along with an opportunity for playing time pushed Perkins to choose Cleveland.

Pellies could've had twin towers of Asik and Perkins. SW Division would've been fricked.

It's crazy how quickly the Cavs have gotten deep. This is why they were favorites right after the trade. Vegas knew they weren't done building.

The most useless player in the NBA. OKC played him way too often.
As a Cavs fan, the only time I want to see him on the court is to match the size of Chicago.

He sucks. Shoots 44% and averages 4 ppg. Cant defend for shite anymore.
All he's good for is appearances on Shaqtin a Fool. Congrats.

Should be good for 6 hard fouls come playoff time and that's about it.

He adds depth for when Mosgov is resting and they don't want to go small with just Thompson and Love. He can fill that role.

Are they gonna sign Ray Allen or is he busy filming He Got Game 2?

I remember when people on this board said those trades didn't matter

I was speaking about the Love trade. Everyone screamed that they didn't have a chance. Probably right, but a few moves later, they are looking damn good.

I remember having them second in my NBA contenders rank early 2015 and people were at that pick.

He's such a plug and so frustrating to watch. Regardless, good pickup for the Cavs for what his role will be.

Irving - Delladova
Smith - Shumpert
LeBron - Miller/Marion
Love - Thompson
Mozgov - Perkins
That's a pretty fantastic two deep compared to what they started with.

No. That would be ANY player on Atlanta.

Love is the key.
No one expects anything from the centers but some banging.
Maybe they give Parker or Curry a concussion to open the NBA finals, otherwise, they are non-factors.

Was hoping this would happen
Perkins isn't anything special but if he can play some solid d for 14-15 minutes a night he is a solid pickup
