Chris Rock explains how baseball got so white and old

Interesting points, I don't necessarily like some of the ideas he suggested but he made some fair points.
one point that he didn't touch on is the owners and their hesitance for change. I always felt like when it came to progress and forward thinking, that the NBA >>>>>>>> MLB, NFL. Even the NBA socially conscious ads and campaigns feel more genuine and real than those 2 other leagues.

I'm a 44 year old white guy who used to follow baseball religiously until 10 or so years ago. I thought he was right on target. Matter of fact, none of my close friends follow baseball and they're all white professionals in their 30s and 40s.

I still love baseball and think there is almost nothing that needs to be changed. And that's all that really matters.
ETA: oh yeah it's that time of year again where everyone who doesn't care for baseball feels the need to show their arse instead of just carrying on, following whatever it is that they do like.

I don't get the logic.
Chris Rock's argument is that black people don't like baseball because it's too stuck in the past... but he also mentioned that him and most other black people when he grew up DID follow baseball.
So what happened between the time Chris was young and now? Baseball being too "old-fashioned" doesn't explain it, because Chris and the people he grew up with liked it.

rock is an arse. the reason there are no blacks in baseball is that AAU coaches and high school football coaches won't let the black kids play baseball.
and that is a FACT. anyone close to the situation knows this to be true. the coaches, mostly white are in it for themselves and baseball season "conflicts" with both basketball season and football spring practice.
