I looked it up and apparently the CFL puts both teams on one side so they can basically have the other side of the field a big advertising billboard. CFL had this coming

They used to do it in NFL when Packers played in Milwaukee and they didn't have a box other than behind the plate.

There is apparently an obscure rule in the NFL that the home team can choose to have both on one side, although i dont think anyone has except in the situation you just mentioned

i just realized that i actually know the referee that was announcing the penalties. He's a multimillionaire that is some sort of executive at his father's TV stations and refs for fun. He does NCAA games too I think. My cousin is friends with him from when she lived near Niagara Falls. .

One of my best friends played with him at Coffeyville CC. Said he was the biggest thug/lazy POS on the entire team. Think he was kicked out of CCC, which is damn near impossible to do in the Jayhawk league.
