Maybe in helmet dirtiness.

Chipper has a better OPS+ by nearly 30 points.
Chipper's OBP is 40 points higher.
Chipper's BA is 20+ points higher.
Chippper hit over 150 more HRs in 2000 fewer PAs.
Chipper walked 400... 400! more times in 2000 fewer PAs.

Chipper Jones has more total bases than Craig Biggio. In 2000 fewer PAs.

Chipper is also better defensively.

Craig Biggio is a great, great baseball player, worthy of the Hall of Fame.

But he's not as good as Chipper Jones.

To Chiiper!

"He once punched a hole in a cow just to see who was coming up the road."

"He'd eat a homeless person if you dared him!"

"His poop is used as currency in Argentina."

"He sweats Gatorade"

"He once breast-fed a flamingo back to health."

"He hated Mexicans! And he was half Mexican! .......And he hated irony!"

"I once saw him scissor kick Angela Landsbury."

"He sheds his skin once a year."

"He makes brooms somewhere in Georgia"

"I once saw him eat a whole live chicken."

MUCH better fielder,

Pick your metric, Chipper is better.

DRS:

Biggio -18
Chip +2

Rtot:

Biggio -34
Chip -16

UZR:

Biggio -16.4
Chip -4.5

MUCH better base runner

The only, and I stress ONLY, aspect of Biggio's game where he has a leg up on Chipper.

LOL name one thing Biggio did better than Chipper

Get hit by a pitch

In all seriousness though, it is hard to compare the two. Both were asked to do different things for their offenses and both had pretty good defense

I like to imagine VerlanderBEAST isn't a troll, and that there is actually someone so incredibly dumb and overwhelmingly wrong 100% of the time in all aspects of sports.

It's impossible, I know. But I want to believe.

shite Chipper even bit a bullet and went and played left field for a few seasons so that scrub Vinny Castilla could play 3rd.

you do know biggio did the same thing twice?

The first time he did it he was an all-star catcher that moved to 2nd. Second time he was sent to the outfield when jeff kent came in

I didnt know that. I new he was catcher but i just figured he moved to 2nd because he was to valuable a offensive player to rot behind the plate.

I think it was that and they had a good catcher behind him.
But I'm just wildly guessing so.....

That was the main reason, i believe.

Another reason they wanted him out from behind the plate was so he wouldn't lose his speed. They played him in the outfield back then just to give his legs a break from catcher every once in a while

So you're saying he's Bryce Harper?

Biggio was a really bad defensive catcher. But Biggio at 2nd>>>>>Chipper at 3rd. Chipper is as big a stiff at 3rd as there has ever been.

Oh and can we stop with the archaic way of comparing guys using career totals.

Biggio probably got hit by more pitches in every season of his career than Chipper did in his career total...not even joking

Biggio also went an entire season without grounding into a double play

That's all I've got
