Contreras, 24, is batting .350 with nine home runs and 43 RBIs for Iowa.

This smells like the end for the Russian assassin.

If you are going to have 3 catchers you should have at least one that can hit. Ross is way above where he usually is and that will even out. Miggy I think is on the decline and his best years are past him.

I know Ross and Miggy help with the staff but their bats can be rally killers.

Yaaaaaas. So much youth. So much talent.

To be honest I hadn't even followed Contreras stats. Looks nasty.

Yeah no use keeping a third catcher they were scared to play. The two old guys were really gonna wear out. Some people have been claiming Montero was going on the DL for bulging disks for the past month.

I hope Contreras starts 2 out of every five at least.

He is not long for this roster.

I would have sworn that he would have outlasted Clayton's Crossfire, though.

catchers killed us in Washington giving up SBs. Pretty much lost the series for us. Ross is too old to be playing as much as he is and it's catching up to him I think

If they can't throw you may as well get the bat in
