I want darvish if we get his Guarantee that's he's resigning with us.... he's good.

Could be a good option compared to the others available because he's a rental and probably won't have the same prospect cost. Resigning him after would be awesome if his health is steady.

Wonder what he would cost. Almora and Candelario? Can't imagine Theo giving up Baez for a half season rental.

That's something I'd probably do.
As much as I like Almora, Happ is looking like he's going to become a staple in the lineup for years. I don't see them trading any of Baez, Russell, or Happ like the guys in the FA thread are saying.
Candelario will be blocked for a good while. I could also see Schwarber going but I highly doubt it.
If Almora and Candelario go, I'd want Lucroy too.

I agree. The only reason I mentioned him is because he's been in so many rumors lately. It'd be either Almora or Schwarber, definitely not both. It'd be Almora IMO because his bat doesn't have enough pop yet and I think Theo loves that about Schwarber.
I don't know if I'm homeristic reading that FA thread but the mention of anyone on the ML roster for a rental Darvish pisses me off

If they get Darvish, what do they do with the rotation. Lackey has already said he isn't willing to go to the pen. I'm guessing you DFA him. So in addition to whatever you trade for Darvish, you're also costing yourself Lackey? He hasn't been great, but his fundamentals have been pretty good. I'm not saying you don't make the move if it costs you Lackey, but there is more to the move if you get Darvish.

He'd have to accept the pen or be DFA. Refusing to go to the pen has shades of Montero selfishness. As much as I hate him, I'd probably rather him eat some innings instead of Grimm or Uehara.

Keep in mind he has 2k+ combined innings on his arm dating back to Japan.
Granted he's only 30, but you can see what's happening to Tanaka in NY, who is only 28. He has close to 2k on his arm as well
I fricking love Darvish. I'd be somewhat wary of the backend of the next contract he gets, though
